Description

The long distance of the Clàssica Penedès 2026 starts at the sports area of Vilafranca del Penedès. The first kilometres towards Sant Jaume dels Domenys run along a road of rolling dips and fast straights, ideal for riding at a good pace in a group. Once in Sant Jaume, the climb to les Ventoses begins, a legendary local ascent with 7 km of climbing and gradients of between 4% and 7%. After cresting it and a short descent to the Aiguaviva junction, the route heads uphill towards Pla de Manlleu and follows the Marmellà stream to Bonany.

At this point, the long route turns left to tackle the Coll de la Torreta on its shorter side of 3.5 km, with a maximum gradient of 6%. After an 11 km descent with views of the Santes Creus monastery, and having passed the first feed station at les Pobles (km 42), the most demanding section begins: a 20 km climb through Pont d'Armentera and Querol. This ascent finishes with 7% ramps just before reaching the second feed station, near Santa Maria de Miralles.

The route continues towards la Llacuna to crest the Coll de la Serra (4.5 km at 4%). The following descent towards Sant Joan de Mediona calls for great care, as the road is narrow and features three steep downhill sections down to les Cases Noves de Can Pardo. The final, more favourable stretch passes through Sant Pere Sacarrera and Sant Quintí de Mediona (third feed station, km 104). After clearing the last obstacle at la Creu de Lavit, the route continues on a gentle climb up to Guardiola de Font-rubí to face the final stretch through the vineyards via Vilobí and Pacs to the finish in Vilafranca del Penedès.
